I love this book like LOVE!!!!!
Colton…. Wow!! He is just unexpected and everything else I totally didn’t see certain things coming but this book and story was refreshing.
The first time I read this book it was initially because I was intrigued by the blurb… I mean who wouldn’t be with a start like that…
“I wasn’t always in love with Colton Calloway; I was in love with his younger brother, Kyle, first. Kyle was my first one true love, my first in every way.
Then, one stormy August night, he died, and the person I was died with him.
Colton didn’t teach me how to live. He didn’t heal the pain. He didn’t make it okay. He taught me how to hurt, how to not be okay, and, eventually, how to let go.”
SO I was hooked because I wanted to know more!
The first part of the story I was just going along with things see how the story line played out. I was totally getting into things, I started to like Kyle and I was “hey this story may not be half bad” and completed disregarded the blurb. Then that night came and I was crying like a baby! Fat tears, snotty nose…
I was a mess because I didn’t see it coming!! And that was my own damn fault because they warned me in the blurb!
Then enter Colton and I was in love… I see how he helped heal her and felt what he felt through his songs and his POV, damn, that man did a number on my heart.
“… when you feel that kind of all-consuming need for someone, a person you’d do fucking anything for, no matter what? They’re in your fucking skin, in your soul, like the essence of who they are is imprinted on you so completely like the very air you breathe… That’s love.”
“You need to let yourself feel. Feel it, own it. Then move on”
But what really got me as when he found out about some events that come into play about 80% of the way in that crushed my heart! What had happened to him and everything after that had me in a tearful mess…
If I thought I was bad when Kyle died then I was horrific when Colt sang that song in the hospital!!! I couldn’t stop crying the whole time. My heart was ripped, then shattered, then stomped on and burnt!
Jasinda Wilder did a truly magnificent job with this book. Me being me I had to put that to the test so I read the book 6 more times and every single time I cried my eyes out! This is when you know you have a truly awesome book!!
Another plus is the playlist at the end of the book!!! Love it! Amazing music! And did you know that Jasinda recorded her original song called Falling Into You. When you read the book you will know that this song is one that Colt wrote for Nell and then you will understand my excitement.
It’s worth a read.
